The general residence route normally requires age 18 or over, five years of lawful residence in the previous nine, including the continuous year immediately before applying.
Minors
The correct route depends on place of birth, the child’s own residence, age and whether a parent is already an Irish citizen. School attendance and certified identity documents are commonly required.
